This is a real sample of a food log that a client of How To Clear Your Acne showed me.

The person’s name has been blurred out for privacy and identification protection. The purpose of this post is to show people of what an example food log may look like and ask yourself, “What have I been eating today?”

You might laugh, but this isn’t too far what some things that I used to be eating when I was breaking out.  Of course, there was a lot more of it because I didn’t gain much weight at the time so I just kept putting into my body whatever “tastes” good, but you’d be surprised the connection between acne and food.

There are little to no medical journals published on the subject of the correlation between acne, your skin, and diet but trust me, once you’ve tried my program, you’ll become a believer just like hundreds of other successful clients.

FOOD JOURNALS

Food journals, such as this one, come in all different shapes and sizes. Whatever works best for you, it’s always helpful to note what you’re eating on a regular basis so that you can look back and analyze your diet to see how it affects your acne.

The above is a REAL sample of a Acne Sufferer’s Daily Diet Food Log. Can anybody tell me what’s right and what’s wrong?

3 THINGS WRONG WITH THIS FOOD LOG

MISTAKE #1: No timestamp

Believe it or not. The timing of the food matters.

Let me make this as exaggerated as possible so I can paint a picture.

Would you eat dinner and then right after you finish go to sleep?  Would you drink tons of coffee right before you go to bed?  Would you eat ice cream for breakfast?  How about waking up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and then having a hearty meal and then going to sleep?

Why wouldn’t you do these things?

Because they don’t make sense and you’d probably feel pretty sluggish and unhealthy if you woke up, ate ice cream, had dinner and coffee then went straight to sleep, woke up in the middle of the at 3:00 AM night and ate lunch…

The body has a sequence of doing things, and for us to break down how you are going to change your eating schedule, you should write down when you’re eating the foods that you’re eating so we can figure out WHEN you should eat them.

So the right way to do it may be something like this:

Monday, May 10th, 2013

  • 8:15 AM – Food item #1
  • 8:45 AM – Food item #2
  • Etc…

MISTAKE #2: Lots of sugar

Sugar causes inflammation at a cellular level as noted by Dr. Nicholas Perricone, author of the Perricone Promise and creator of several skin programs.  He has been successful in helping many clients and conducting research in the acne and clear skin field, but a lot of his products use chemicals that may harm the skin in the long term.  How To Clear Your Acne and my approach isn’t about that, I’m going all natural baby.

This person is eating tons and tons of sweets.  Look at 5/13… 2 cookies, a yoplait yogurt, a cup of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, a mini muffin… It seems like the majority of their diet is leaning towards sugar and inflammation.  Hence, their skin will reflect that (with inflammation and acne).

We get into exactly what you should eat in the Acne Free Diet and my programs.

MISTAKE #3: No amounts

Just like the time should be written down of when you’re eating what, the amounts too.  This way we can go back and figure out how much sugar you really ate.  For example, on 5/13 there were 2 cookies eaten.

Were they 24″ large pizza sized peanut butter cookies or were they tiny little quarter sized nut cookies?  Because technically, we could still say that there were TWO cookies but us to talk about what you ate in your food log, when you and I take a look at this we may not remember the exact amounts.

So what you should do instead is something like 2 White Chocolate Chip from [insert random brand here].

So remember, the more specific you are with what you ate, the better.

DO YOU WANT TO LEARN EVERYTHING ABOUT WHAT TO EAT FOR CLEAR SKIN?

The How To Clear Your Acne Regimen is designed to clear your acne quickly and naturally for long lasting and PERMANENT results so that you can look that girl in the eye and know that she finds you attractive and that she thinks you’re good looking TOO.

The best part is, I don’t focus on the external, short term solutions like pills or the next face wash like ProActiv.  My program is about clearing your acne naturally from the inside through the Acne Free Diet.

LOL Just cause he’s eating “KCV” daily, doesn’t mean he can get away with eating all that junk! So silly!

  • Archie says:

I don’t understand the point of this post. And I truly hope this isn’t a real food log. If it is, no wonder the person has acne – all he eats is garbage! Where are the fresh veggies and fruits? Everything here is processed food product, not food! Try eating real, whole food for every meal, cut out dairy (except kefir), cut out eating animals. Drink water and green tea. Exercise daily. Skip anything that was made in a factory or that has ingredients in it that you would not find in your kitchen cabinet. If it’s an item that would not have been in somebody’s diet 100 years ago, then don’t eat it now. You can wash your face with kefir too – it’s fantastic. But outside things only help if what is going into your body is good, so overhaul that eating regimen!

Clearly the Kefir with the Coconut oil and his vitamins are a good start, but just because you’re doing that doesn’t mean your gonna be in the clear for acne. You have to change your entire food lifestyle in order to achieve clear skin!

I can honestly say I’m eating better than this person with the food log. =)
