Do Carbs, Pasta, Starch, Rice, Noodles, Bread Cause Acne?

If you’ve ever had Sugar, Starch, Rice, Noodles, Bread, Carbohydrates or Pasta… you may be self inflicting break outs to your skin.

Which brings us to the Second Rule of Step 2: Little to No Refined Starches or Sugars.

How many of you just felt a pain in your chest when you read that line? Don’t be shy, you can go ahead an admit it. I sure did. Believe it or not, I used to have a huge sweet tooth.

“I’d give up chocolate, but I’m no quitter!” I used to love saying that. But, BUTTTTT… today you’re going to have be to one: A QUITTER.

It wasn’t easy to quit, and I had many relapses, but I eventually came through and this is how I did it.

WHY SWEETS, STARCH, AND CARBS CAUSE ACNE

Meet John, average guy, has a little acne but not a severe case because he’s in his late teens early twenties, not overweight but not too skinny either. Just your typical, normal… dude.

He goes out with his friends one evening to a restaurant and decides to order dessert after dinner because he loves this place’s famous apple turnover a la carte (topped with ice cream). This is what happens inside of John’s body after he satisfies his sweet tooth and eats that dessert.

1.) The refined/simple sugars enter his bloodstream and spike his blood sugar levels
2.) The body compensates by producing insulin to lower the spike in blood sugar level
3.) Excess sugar is expelled through the urine or
4.) Excess sugar is stored in the body’s reserve as energy

Continuous spiking and counteracting the spike in blood sugar level can and WILL eventually exhaust organs and can cause irreversible damage leading to problems like diabetes.

SO WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ME?

When you eat poisonous simple sugars, your body can no longer properly control the spike in blood sugar levels as well. Your organs will weaken, your blood sugar level will be unstable, and your blood stream will be polluted excess long chain blood fats.

On top of that, any form of bad bacteria and molds such as candida feed off the excess simple sugars and allowed to thrive inside your stomach.

Therefore, in a nutshell, if you eat a lot of sugar one night, you’re body is going to have to deal with all that excess “junk”, some of it’s going to come out of your urine, some of it’s going to be stored as fat, some of it’s going to feed the bad guys, harmful bacteria, and candida living in your stomach, and some of it’s going to come out of your lungs and skin’s pores.
What comes out of your pores contributes largely to clogging them and the infection of them or… as we know it: ACNE.

Now we know that simple sugars cause acne. How do I know what to stay away from? What’s a simple sugar? What’s a refined sugar? You mentioned even rice, noodles, and carbs will cause break outs and acne?

BUT DOESN’T REFINED MEAN BETTER? HOW WE WERE ALL TRICKED

First off, what is “refined” sugar and” refined” carbohydrates anyway? Those manufacturing companies and food corporations are very sneaky. “Refined” simply means they strip away all of the nutrients, fiber, and outer layers of the grain and leave the endosperm of the wheat grain. The diagram below shows what a typical kernel of wheat may look like.

When you eat “refined” carbohydrates, you’re eating a product which is void of many nutrients and fiber that you’re supposed to eat, the way nature designed it to be eaten.

WHAT’S GOOD FOR ME AND WHAT’S BAD FOR ME?

I’m not saying that simple sugars are bad for you, that is not what I’m saying at all. However, in excess they tend to spike blood sugar level very quickly and can lead to other problems like those noted above (e.g .some of it’s going to come out of your urine, some of it’s going to be stored as fat, some of it’s going to feed the bad guys, harmful bacteria, and candida living in your stomach, and some of it’s going to come out of your lungs and skin’s pores).

It’s going to be nearly impossible for me to list all the products that may spike blood sugar level or harm your body that you should stay away from and that’s why you’re going to have to learn the fundamentals of what I’m talking about. And unfortunately, you’re going to have to start looking at the labels on the back of these boxes to check out the ingredients. I know, I know, it’s tedious. But “beauty is pain” =).

To start, here’s a general list of foods high in sugar or “refined” anything to avoid:

  • Most Junk Food (e.g. pizza)
  • Soda & Most Fruit Juices
  • Donuts & Pastries
  • Refined Pastas (*Ouch*)
  • Refined Noodles (*Ouch*)
  • Refined Rices (*Ouch*)
  • Refined Breads (*Major Ouch*)
  • Any Foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup or Fructose
  • Obviously Candy
  • Ice Creams (*Aw, Kill Me Now! =( *)
  • Pies and Cakes

STOP EATING BREADS, NOODLES, PASTA, RICE, AND JUNK FOOD! I KNOW IT SUCKS BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA…

If you’re like the many people I’ve told this to, you’re probably freaking out and saying to yourself, if not out loud:

“Time out, time out! I have to cut out breads?! But… I… LOVE carbs!”

Yeah, so did I. But I also loved my face. In fact, I loved CLEAR SKIN even more. And[intlink id=”526″ type=”post”] this is how I beat the addition[/intlink] because yes, though I don’t like to admit it, I was addicted.

Most restaurants and foods these days that do use breads, noodles, pastas, rices, or whatever of some sort are using the inexpensive and great tasting version of carbohydrates. That version just so happens to be the kind that’s stripped of all the nutrients and is sometimes even BLEACHED to make it look better. Well, it may look better but it certainly isn’t going to be BETTER for you!

These refined carbohydrates that most restaurants and grocery stores are selling to you these days are converted into sugar when you eat them. The end result is still the same…

REFINED SUGAR = REFINED CARBS = TOXIC = CLOGGED PORES = ACNE

SCIENTIFIC PROOF THAT THERE’S A CONNECTION BETWEEN SUGARS AND ACNE

THE GROCERY STORE & RESTAURANTS DON’T CARE ABOUT YOUR SKIN

It’s true, the truth of the matter is that most people chose foods based for their taste, NOT for anything else. So they could care less if you walked in as a fat pimply cow as long you pay them money and you think their food tastes good.

That’s just the way our industry works. It’s sad but they just want to fill their pockets. Most food companies out there don’t care whether or not you have clear skin.

So it’s time we look out for ourselves and each other.

But there is a way to beat the system. You don’t have to drop sugar and breads altogether. You can have your cake and eat it too!

HOW TO CLEAR ACNE AND PUT PIMPLES BEHIND YOU

The solution to curing your acne is to not focus on improving your health in the commonly accepted way.   Now, what I’m NOT saying is to not work out, not eat healthy, and not wash your skin.  That is NOT what I’m saying.  However, what I am saying is that what we believe now to be “taking care” of our bodies needs to be tweaked a little bit, especially if you have acne.  And that “tweak” that you’re looking for is exactly what How To Clear Your Acne is about.

What every acne sufferer must learn, especially the ones that are really fit and health conscious yet still can’t figure out why they still have acne, is that there is a DIFFERENT KIND OF TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY ROUTINE for us.  Our bodies are different than the “average” person who eats whatever they want and just gains weight.  Sometimes our bodies, which you’ve probably already noticed, doesn’t even gain weight.  Sometimes, when we neglect our bodies, we just end up breaking out instead.  And it sucks.

It doesn’t make any sense that we’re eating “right,” working out, getting a good sweat, going to a sauna, washing our face, and then doing a facial mask yet we STILL breakout.  WHY?!

So whatever you do, don’t just keep working out and trying to eat “healthy” thinking that something’s going to change and that your acne is suddenly going to start clearing up if you just try harder.

I know this doesn’t work.  Because that’s what I used to do.  I would just redouble my efforts thinking that I wasn’t trying hard enough.  But that’s not the answer and it’s not going to cure your acne.

You need to stop and think.  Reformulate a new plan.  Really try and understand what’s going on.  Figure out the WHY.

It’s questions just like these that I racked my brain for years!   I’ve been in your shoes before and it’s hard to really know what works and what doesn’t.  It just seems like there are so many acne products out there, it’s hard to really find out with ones are telling the truth and which ones are lying. I’ve bought a lot of them too, Clearasil, Murad, ProActiv, those are just to name a few that I’ve tried.  I used to have use a lot of acne products such as aloe vera, benzoyl peroxide, face creams, masks, etc… But these days, I barely even wash my face once a day sometimes, and I’m still clear. I’m proof that clearing your acne the healthy and natural way works. And it’s permanent too, I still have clear skin and I have no problems maintaining acne free, clear skin.

And I finally figured out the perfect routine and way to care for our bodies and our skin if you have acne.  The true causes of acne are really dirty blood and an overwhelmed system. And I talk a lot about these two causes in my website and more in detail about how to deal with them in my products.

For anybody reading this article, if you’re serious about clearing your acne for good, the logical next step for you would be to learn about your body. It doesn’t matter if you choose me or someone else, I would highly recommend you to start learning about how to clear your acne from the inside instead of concentrating on the outside. Make sure you know that outside acne treatments are only short term, and that you really want to focus on clearing acne from the inside out.

    A Fleet’s only cleans the lower bowel. A colon cleanse cleans everything from the top to the bottom and offers the Gastroenterologist a much better view.

    other than accutane, the ketogenic diet is the only thing that got rid of 100% of my acne. I love carbs too but I guess I’ll have to save them for refeed day

    Hey Ray,

    So only REFINED carbs are bad for acne. Therefore, NONREFINED carbs are okay for acne such as sweet potato and brown rice? Because I eat them everyday and my face does not breakout crazy. I do have acne still but only cyst acne.

      Well you need to get rid of acne in your body before you can really eat a lot of things. If you have acne, your acne will be aggravated by certain foods such as nonrefined carbs. The solution is to get rid of acne first through the regimen and then a lot of things will seem more… “normal”

    A lot of this made sense, but I’m still sorta confused. What about regular rice? And how are noodles bad? I mean, rice and noodles are a big part of an east asian diet. Many of them have great skin though. If you could just clear this up for me, I would be really grateful.
